What we are washing off.

Green algae grows on the shade side of a vinyl fence, and it does not wipe off. Deck boards go grey as mildew works down into the grain. Porch ceilings, railings and steps catch the same film the siding does, just close enough to see every day.

None of it means the wood is done. It washes off, and the colour underneath is usually better than you remember.

How we wash wood

Low pressure is the whole job on wood.

Wood cannot take what concrete takes. Run full pressure across a deck and it furs the grain and cuts wand lines you cannot sand out. So decks and porches get a hot water wash at low pressure, and the mix does the work instead of the machine.

Vinyl fence gets the same treatment. The algae lets go and the panel comes clean without a mark on it.

Questions we get asked.

Will washing damage the wood?

Not at low pressure, and low pressure is the whole job on wood. Too much of it furs the grain up and leaves marks that stay. Hot water and a gentle rinse take the grey and the growth off without tearing at the boards.

Do you wash vinyl fence as well as wood?

Yes. Vinyl fence picks up the same green film a house does, worse along the shaded runs, and it comes off the same way.

Do you need to hook up to my water?

No. We bring our own water, 600 gallons on the rig, so the job does not depend on your spigot.
